Own a Piece of Skowhegan History!

I never cared much for sleeping bags and tents, but I did enjoy the time we had to evacuate camp during a hurricane and spent the night on the basketball court of a school in nearby Skowhegan.

I've been informed that the school had to be razed after the roof collapsed in a heavy snowfall this past Februrary. The town is turning it into a fundraiser and bricks from the school can now be purchased at The Blueberry Cupboard gift shop on Water Street in Skowhegan. Here's a link to the article I found in The Morning Sentinel: http://morningsentinel.mainetoday.com/news/local/5032538.html.

I plan to buy one - and thanks to the resident who emailed me!
