It wasn’t exactly my goal to write a memoir, I just wanted to write about my camp. Once I got started, it didn’t take long to realize I needed to give the book a point of view, and the one I’m most familiar with is my own.

But enough about me and my camp experiences already. Now it’s your turn. So kick back, sip some bug juice from a tall plastic cup and tell us what camp you went to, what years you were there, and maybe share a favorite memory or two.

Someone’s reminiscing, Lord, kum-ba-yah…

I loved the book. I was the counselor in overalls and Rummells button. You captured the feeling of camp and that special summer brilliantly. Thanks!

Hi Mindy,
Loved the book. Loved your humor.
Now I can finally say "I went to camp" after living vicariously through Mindy Schneider's experience.

I hear you! I left a similar camp in NH after 1 year because I hated it! Moved to another Jewish camp in NH that I loved for years :-)

Cedar Crest, 1960's. Rummel's mocha. Whipper's pizza. Wondering: what went on at the Bob Inn? Belgrade socials. Sweet camp songs still in my head.

Thank you for writing something that tapped so intricately into memories of my camp days that I thought were long gone!

Your memory of the cool jeans reminds me of my jeans. In the 1970s I got a pair of Levi's and embroidered them with multi-colored snakes up the legs.
